An Analysis of Gears' Axial Force of Intermediate Shaft

Through an analysis of common gear drive force,we know that the key of gears' force is axial force. From the axial force analysis of two-stage expansion helical cylindrical gear the result is as follow: two gears' spiral direction of intermediate shaft is often the same so that its axial force could counteract partly each other. This will decrease the axial load of rolling bearings,shaft,and gearbox,and will prolong their service life. This will also give a reference for similar gears' design and installation. It is even applicable to multistage transmission including worm helical cylindrical gear transmission as well. The result is still correct even if spiral direction or rotate direction changes. But the exception exists as well,for example,the intermediate shaft contains spur bevel gear or it is input shaft.
