Numerical Simulation on Shell Side Flow Field of Heat Exchanger Based on ANSYS-CFX

A numerical simulation on fluid flowing and heat transfer in a tube and shell heat exchanger with ANSYS-CFX is carried out.The distribution of the velocity,pressure and temperature of the shell is obtained. Medium flow in the baffled windward side changes significantly,on the leeward side flow is slow,forming dead zone. From the inlet to the outlet pressure loss is obvious,the medium temperature from low to high. The simulation results provide a theoretical basis for the structural improvement of the type heat exchanger.
