Finite-Time Thermodynamic Performance Characteristics of Isentropic Closed-Regenerated Brayton Heat Pump Cycles

Finite-time thermodynamic performance characteristics of isentropic closed-regenerated Brayton heat pump cycles with constant-and variable-temperature heat reservoirs have been studied in this paper. The relations between heating load and pressure ratio, and between COP and pressure ratio are derived for two cases of heat reservoir conditions, and then the optimal heating load versus COP characteristics are obtained. In the process of analysis the heat resistance losses in the heat exchangers between working fluids and high-and low-temperature heat reservoirs and the regenerator are taken into account.
