Numerical research on fluid noise of surface ship

The flow-induced noise is mainly caused by unstable fluid in which fluctuation appears due to different degrees scales of vortex and turbulence.Because of the complexity of the fluid-induced noise,some traditional numerical analysis methods of classical acoustics are not sufficient to solve a specific and practical engineering problem.But the improvement of CFD technique makes it possible to deal with the engineering problem.The VOF method and SST k-ω two-equation turbulence model were used to simulate the unsteady viscous flow of a three-dimensional surface ship.According to the Lighthill theory,the acoustic numerical calculation about the hull in the near and far fields was carried out.Studies show that the acoustic radiation about the ship stern is greater than that about the ship bow and that the horizontal acoustic radiation of the mid-ship is significantly greater than that of the bow and stern.
