Optimization of preparation and application of PPFS by response surface methodology

The main influencing factors for the preparation of polymeric ferric phosphoric sulfate(PPFS) were determined separately based on one-factor experiments with removal rate of TP in sewage as the measurable indicator,namely nH2SO4/nFe2+,alkalization degree and nPO3-4/nFe2+.Through Box-Behnken experiment design and response surface analysis(RSA),optimization grouping of these 3 main influencing factors was realized;a quadratic response surface model and optimum level values were obtained.It was found that the optimization grouping of the main influencing factors were as following: the ratio of nH2SO4/nFe2+ was 0.1017,alkalization degree was 12.21% and the ratio of nPO3-4/nFe2+was 0.0560.A regression analysis was utilized to evaluate the fitness of the model,which showed that the predicted TP removal rate of PPFS prepared under optimized conditions was close to the real value and the deviation was only 1.26%.
