Exploring microbial activity level of fine particulate matter in Shihezi city,China

The biological components of particulate matter would cause serious inflammation of the tissue, they make the harmful effects by spreading to humans, plants and livestock. In this study, the FDA(fluorescein diacetate)hydrolyzation method was used to define the microbial activity level of bioaerosols in Shihezi city, and the Pearson bivariate analysis method was adopted to analyze its influencing factors. The results showed the highest level of microbial activity in fine particulate matters was in summer, the lowest was in winter. And there are significant correlations between the temperature(R = 0.587, n = 75, P 0.01), concentration of fine particle(R =-0.704,n = 75, P 0.01) and wind speed(R = 0.605, n = 75, P 0.05). It has been indicted that the temperature plays the most significant role in microbial activity by stepwise multiple linear regressions. This study aims to provide basic scientific data for methods and processes which evaluating regional investment environment in key regions of urban areas and important reference value for research on atmospheric environment of Shihezi.
