The Calculation of Isoprene Emission Flux under Cloudy Sky Conditions

It is found that isoprene emission was obviously influenced by clouds through solar radiation,based on the observational data in the Inner Mongolia grassland during the summer seasons of 2002 and 2003.It is important and essential to study and improve the accuracy of calculating isoprene emission flux under the condition of larger cloudiness,which will help us to understand and accurately estimate the isoprene emission flux at different period of time under different sky conditions.The results showed that under the conditions of cloudiness ≥6,when all the coefficients keep the same as before and let the atmospheric mass is equal to 1 in the empirical algorithm,the average of relative bias between calculated and observed isoprene emission fluxes was reduced to 72%.The uncertainties of estimated emission flux of isoprene were reduced evidently by this method for cloudy sky conditions.
