Full-Scale Experimental Research on Residual Water Treatment for Environmental Dredging

The design methods of Confined Disposal Facilities(CDF) and intensified natural sedimentation for environmental dredging were presented.Aiming at the characteristics of environmental dredging including time limit short for a project,much residual water quantity and high suspended solids concentration,different residual water treatment processes were compared and analyzed.The treatment process of adding flocculants were chosen and full-scale experiments done in the CDF of Taihu Wuli Lake environmental dredging.Experimental results show that weir and partition settled in the CDF can improve hydraulic condition,extend the hydraulic retention time,be favorable to free settlement of particles,and improve the sedimentation rate of particles.Flocculants can be added to sludge pipe,mixed rapidly and then flocculated and settled in the CDF,or they can be added to discharge outlet,mixed in the clapboard tank,flocculated in the reciprocal baffled flocculating tank and settled in the horizontal flow sedimentation tank.Both the means can ensure the residual water to meet the effluent standard.It needs fewer flocculants and is easier to control discharge quality if adding flocculants to the discharge outlet.
