Experimental Study on Degradation Capability of Dominant Bacteria in Rubber Industry Wastewater

Eight strains of bacteria were isolated from the rubber industry wastewater containing 2-mercaptobenzothiazole and the active sludge cultivated by the wastewater.The degradation effect of rubber industry wastewater by these strains was investigated.The results showed that the degrading rate of every single stain was above 55% after six days.Among the eight strains,Y8 was the best one,with the degrading rate of 82%.At the same time,the degradation of rubber industry wastewater by compound bacteria was studied,and the optimal condition was found with the temperature of(35 ℃) and pH of 8.The dilution of wastewater can reduce the degradation rate.The orthogonal experimental research result also shows the best degradation condition: glucose content,2(g/L);urea content,1.0(g/L);bacteria content,20%;and revolution rate,80(r/min.)
