Simultaneous Determination of Atmosphericsul fur Dioxide and Partculate with Filter Packs Method

A method has been developed for simultaneous sampling of atmospheric sulfur dioxide andparticulate with 1%K_2CO_3-10%Gly impregnated filters which are made with domestic glass fiber fil-ters and medium quantitative fiIter paper,respectively. The efficiency to collect sulfur dioxide with these two filters is 99.4%and 95.7%,respectively. The matrix effect caused by carbonate has been reduced by decreasing the concentration of K_2CO_3(from 25%to 1%)and by using strong acidic posi-tive ion-exchange resin,and the accuracy and the sensitivity of to be determined have been greatly increased.The sampling capacity of sulfur dioxide of 1%K_2CO_3-10%Gly impregnated filter(90 mm )has been proved to be 160g/cm￣2. The standard deviation of determining ambient sulfurdioxide between impregnated and PRA methods is very low,only 4.3%。Correlation coefficient is 0.993.
