A way to mining of declined orebody by composite mining method

Wu Enkai (Qingdao Staffs & Workers College of Mining Engineering, Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, Qingdao, China)
The conventional methods of mining in declined orcbody usuall resulted in large dilution, less productive capacity, low labour productivity and great unsafety factor in operation. In recent years, some mines have undertaken developmental experiments on mining methods such as sublevel open stoping in declined middle-thick orebody, overall shrinkage stoping in declined thin orcbody. Most of them hava got desirable technical' results in practice for having solved the above problems to some extent, and are more effective at present,Having the forms and characteristics of the same or other methods that based on open stoping, the above developmental methods are the combination of two mining methods. With the coordination and interconnections between technique, experiment, and stope structure being emphasized, the composite one has the characteristics and advantages of various methods.lt is more adaptable and will very possibily be an important way to the mining of the declined orebody in future.
