Experimental research on optimizing grinding media regime to improve grinding performance

In light of the poor grain size characteristics of grinding products in the gold concentrator as well as the substandard productivity of Jiaojia Gold Mine,the paper carried out experimental research to improve grinding performance by optimizing grinding media regime.The experiment results indicated that the recommended grinding media m(?90) ∶m(?70)∶m(?50)∶m(?40)∶m(?30)=15∶25∶20∶15∶25 achieved obvious optimization effect;the-200 mesh utilization coefficient of grinding mills was increased by 20.67 %;the production rate of coarse magnitude+0.30 mm decreased by 4.59 percentage points;the production rate of-0.074 mm,easy-to-separate fraction between 0.15 mm and 0.019 mm,separatable fraction between 0.30 mm and 0.010 mm was increased by 6.62,5.89 and 2.97 percentage points respectively;technical efficiency of grinding was increased by 4.71 %.The experimental results have created favorable conditions for gold flotation improvement and has certain guidance in improving the plant performance of grinding operation.
