Application of upward horizontal slicing and filling mining method in Xincheng Gold Mine

The ore bodies in Xincheng Gold Mine are hosted in fractured and broken zones. The ore bodies and surrounding rocks are broken,thus hard to extract. In order to further increase production of stopes,the paper proposed upward horizontal slicing and filling method for mining considering the hosting conditions of ore bodies. The method used trackless ore-drawing equipment and achieved safe and efficient extraction of ore bodies from fractured and broken zones,and effectively prevented accidents such as roof falling and wall caving. Industrial tests show that the method can achieve 300 t ores per shift for 1 scooptram; produce 220 t/d ore blocks; and the mining loss and ore dilution rate are 9. 93 % and 7. 89 % respectively; the indicators are good. The research achievement can be used as reference by mines that have similar conditions.
