Study on the algorithm of oblique-section shapes in composite curved surface for automobile

This paper provided an effective algorithm of the oblique section shapes in the composite curved surface of automobile body.Based on practical situation this algorithm is established to scan along three boundaries of the surface for finding the initial point and then following the track to find other points in section shapes.Owing to simplification of scanning procedure , the computing time needed is significantly cut. And coordinated and relative parameters are recorded for each intersection point. Experiment shows that the algorithm is simple, practical, high-speed,effective and can be applied in calculation of quality analysis of oblique-section in composite surfaces of automobile bady and NC machining tool path of free surface.
