THE BREEDING TECHNIQUE FOR THE CLAM(CYCLINA SINENSIS GMELIN)

This article reports on the results of study on the induction of spawning and the artificial breeding of the clam (Cyclina sinensis)in earth ponds and plant respectively. A breakthrough in its intensive rearing was achieved. The average yield of 0. 26 cm aveage body length spats in 6988 m2 earth ponds was 3. 1119 × 104/m3. The average yield of the spats was 36. 73×104/m3 in breeding plant ponds with total seawater volume of 105 m3. Its average body lentgh was 0. 41 cm.
