Ionic Liquid-based Supercapacitors Based on 2D Nanocarbon Electrodes

Ionic liquid-based supercapacitors with wider voltage windows and high energy densities are widely noted. 2D carbon-based nanomaterials with high specific surface areas and short ionic transport distance are regarded as the idea supercapacitor electrode materials.This paper summarized three kinds of 2D carbon-based materials,such as interconnected porous functionalized graphenes,porous carbon nanosheets and grahene-like nitrogen-doped carbon nanosheets,which match different ionic liquid electrolytes.These supercapacitors exhibit high specific capacitance,excellent rate capacity,long cyclic life as well as high energy density and high power density synergetic outputting properties,which can bridge the energy-power gap between electrolytic capacitors and commercial batteries.
