PROBABILITY DAMAGE TOLERANCEEVALUATION METHOD FORMULTI-CRACKED STRUCTURE

Using the probability fracture mechanics, a new full-life probability dam-age tolerance evaluation model is established for multicracked structures, which con-siders the randomness of the initial crack length and its propagation. Also established isa reliability model for the multi-cracked structure. According to the above models, anexample is applied to the main beam of an aircraft wing to dtermine the safe reliabilityunder a given fatigue crack growth life or the safe fatigue crack propagation life under agiven reliability.
