Assessment and expectation for overall design requirements of remote handling technologies for decommissioning of spent nuclear fuel reprocessing plant

The early stage construction of spent nuclear fuel reprocessing plant now is entering to the crucial decommissioning phase.In order to implement the cleanup and dismantling activities for key areas adapt to safety requirements and within schedule,RD projects upon remote handling technical system is priority,from which enabling defined the intervention operation scenario.These will provide the capability for performing these actions suitably.In China,there is no standard system for relative cleanup and dismantling in remote functionality upon spent nuclear fuel reprocessing plant.According to status and characteristic of legacy spent nuclear fuel reprocessing plant,this paper gives analytical summary of the typical hard points within decommissioning projects.The paper also brings forward the overall design requirements of remote handling technologies for decommissioning based on the experience and feedback gained from similar activities have conducted internationally,which can be the major basis for Chinese designers' decision-making.
