PHASE SEPARATION MODEL ANALYSIS OF GAS-LIQUIDTWO PHASE FLOW IN THE ZONES OF INFLUENCEIN HORIZONTAL PIPELINE SYSTEM

A computational program is proposed to calculate the two-phase flow in the T type and Y type branch by using a mechanistic model based on the idea that the gas and liquid flows being ex- tracted into the side branch come from the "influent zones" bounded by "dividing streamline" . A number of numerical calculations are carried out to give predictive results in good agreement with others' experiment work on this field. The calculation shows that the branch angle is one of the main factors effecting the phase separation in branch type systems. Meanwhile the influences of inlet parameter X1 are also discussed.
