The Mechanical Analyses of Coordinate Transformation in Linear Vibration Systems

By using an example of two--degree of freedom vibration system, this nrticle concretely describes the mechanical meaning of coordinate transformat- ion in a linear vibration equations set. It can be observed that the transfor-a mation matrix [A] expresses the transformation relation between two sets of generalized coordinates, while [A]~T expresses the transformation relation bet- ween two expressions to which the force systems acting on the vibration syst- em should be adapted in the two sets of generalized coordinates. The above analyses can also be applied to multi-degree of freedom vibra- tion systems.
