Single Board Computer Measurement System of Particle Image

Using a microcomputer for the process of image,a large video memory is required to store entire frame image information or use"window"technique.By reason of cost and vol- ume,application of microcomputer system in particle image measurement is precluded.This paper presents a single board computer measurement particle image with high performance and low cost.The image input is implemented by the TV camera.(resolution:256×512×4 bit).The image processing is performed only by single board computer with 4K RAM and 6K byte program.The number of particles,equivalent diameter and distributions of particle sizes are printed by an ultra-micro printer.In hardware using parallel comparater-type A/D converter and high-speed buffer register,in software using both sampling and pro- ccssing,the problem of low speed and small capacity is solved.So the advantages of the system are low cost,high processing speed,simple architecture and easy application.
