Study on Germination Conditions of the Urediospores of Uromyces vignae

Uromyces vignae was the pathogen which caused adzuki bean rust. In order to clarify the urediospores germination conditions of Uromyces vignae,urediospores of the Uromyces vignae fungus ZXL01 were used to determine the effects on the germination of culture methods,temperature,light,storage conditions and storage time. Results showed that the optimum method was cultured on agar plate,and the urediospores germinate initially within 2 hours. The germination rate was gradually increased and stabilized around of 75.0% until 6 hours after inoculation. The suitable temperature for urediospores germination ranged from 15 ℃to 25 ℃,and the optimal temperature was around 20 ℃. Light had inhibitive effect on urediospores germination. It was ascertained that the urediniospores had lost their germination abilities after stored for 360 days at 4 ℃,but could still germinate at-20 ℃.
