Inhibition Effects of Hydroxy 2-substitutited Naphthoquinone Derivatives on Hep3B

Naphthoquinones had been widely reported the antitumor effects.5 alkylated naphthoquinone derivatives were synthesized starting from 1,5-dihydroxynaphthalene through a five-step sequence.Four of the derivatives(6a,6b,6c and 6d)contained hydroxyl group at the alkyl terminal and one derivative(6e)had no hydroxyl group.These compounds' structures were determined by 1H NMR and Mass spectrometry and were evaluated the inhibition activity on human hepatocarcinoma Hep3B cell line by MTT assay.Results suggested that such 5 compounds had definite anti-tumor ability on Hep3B human hepatomcarcinoma.The length of hydroxyl alkyl affected the inhibitory activity.Compound 6 d showed the strongest inhibition effect with IC509.1 μmol·m L-1.
