Study on Half-ridge-spaced and Close Planting Cultivation Method of Maize

Half - ridge - spaced and close planting cultivation method of maize is a new method with one and half ridges together forming a platform 105 cm wide,two close planting corn rows growed on the platform and a space half - ridge wide between two platforms. The method could establish a population with efficient photosynthetic system, make crown structure more ventilative and photic, increase edge effect, enlarge green area, elongate photosynthetic time, raise photcoynthetic power and enhance photosynthetic Productivity of population, relative growth rate, population growth rate and efficiency of energy conversion. The results showed that the half - ridge - spaced and close planting cultivation method could get a) a high yield ,average yield per mu 769. 20kg in three years,highest yield per mu 834. 46kg;b) a big increase of yield, 22. 3 ̄ 38.5% higher than that of conventional method ;and c)a rematkable economic benefit, 50 ̄65 yuan net increase per mu.
