The polymorphism and genetic effect analysis of ROCK2 gene of pigs

To explore the polymorphism of porcine ROCK2 gene and its relationship with production traits,pyrosequencing method was adopted in this experiment for a 145 bp fragment of ROCK2 coding region,in which gene frequency of 3 SNP( A27 G,C42 T and T61C) among 5 potential SNP were detected in 4 pig breeds( Large White pig,Londroce,Meishan and Qingping) and Large White pig×Meishan F2 population; genetic variation analysis and correlation analysis of production traits were also carried out. The results showed that dominant alleles of the three SNP had no difference between foreign breed and domestic breed,and were A,C and T respectively. A27 G mutation had significant correlation( P0. 05) with skin percentage or back fat thickness at thorax-lumbar,and had very significant correlation( P0. 01) with back fat thickness at atlas or 1 st rib-thorax. C42 T mutation had significant correlation( P0. 05) with back fat thickness at atlas,and had very significant correlation( P0. 01) with back fat thickness at 1 st rib-thorax. T61C mutation had significant correlation( P 0. 05) with skin percentage,marbling scores of longissimus dorsi or biceps femoris,and had very significant correlation( P 0. 01) with p H value of biceps femoris. The results indicated that those 3 SNP were probably molecular markers which could affect production traits of pigs.
