Research progress on antioxidative effect of oocyte in vitro

In vitro maturation culture of oocytes is one of the key steps in production of embryos in vitro. The step plays an irreplaceable role in the artificial assisted reproductive technology and embryo engineering. With the increase in mammalian in vitro fertilization and embryo development at home and abroad,the animal biotechnology has also begun to receive much attention. Studies have shown that cleavage rate and blastocyst rate are positively correlated with oocyte maturation levels. Reactive oxygen species( ROS) is one of the main causes of oocyte maturation.In vitro culture of oocytes,the phenotypes of the cell,such as oxidative stress,structural damage and dysfunction,can be caused by excessive ROS. It is unfavorable for maintaining the normal reproductive function of oocytes. The present paper main summarizes the antioxidant mechanism research progress of in vitro maturation.
