State-of-the-art of the application of structural lightweight aggregate concrete in foreign countries

Jian tong Ding, Yu shun Guo, Kaolu KIMURA 〔  
With reference especially to the Second international Symposium on Structural Lightweight Aggregate Concrete(LWAC),18~22 June 2000,Kristiansand,Norway,this paper reviews the state of the art of structural LWAC in foreign countries,with emphasis on the application of high strength medium density LWAC in bridges and offshore platforms,the pumping of LWAC,and the revision in the coming European standards for lightweight aggregates(WLA)and LWAC.Some new LWAC materials and structures are briefly introduced,such as high performance LWA with low water absorption and high particle strength,fiber reinforced LWAC,self compacting LWAC,and LWAC profiled steel composite slabs. 〔
