An experimental study on shrinkage cracking of thin slab structure concrete with fly ash

This paper reports an experimental study on the earlyage shrinkage cracking of concrete with fly ash. Experimental results indicate the following: firstly, the initial cracking time of mortar increase and free shrinkage decrease with the percentage of blended fly ash increasing. Secondly, different curing environment also do a more obvious effect on compressive strength of concrete with fly ash. Lastly, concrete tensile strength improves with the blended fly ash increase at some certain degree. Therefore, fly ash play a predominant role in concrete shrinkage cracking.
