Sharp degradation point of concrete under freezing-thawing cycles

The degradation of concrete durability is induced by environmental actions essentially like the initiation,expansion and connectivity of flaws,such as microcrack and interspace at the microcosmic significance.The failure process is similar to the one of concrete subjected to mechanical actions.The damge value of concrete failure characteristic point subjected to the load gets through the one dimension stress-strain relation of Saenz.Through the principle that the damage of failure characteristic point subjected to loads and damage of the sharp degradation point of concrete is freezing-thawing cycles is equal,this paper ascertained the critical point of durability degradation and used the conclusion to analyze the damage evolution process of concrete in freeze-thaw cycles.The results confirmed the rationality of critical point damage induced.The confirmation of the sharp degradation point helps to solve the damage evolution law of concrete durability,and furthermore has important significance in the concrete performance design and life evaluation field.
