Experimental research on characteristics of approximate fifty years hydraulic concrete

Material characteristics of approximate fifty years concrete have been tested in this research.The results indicate that increasing of compressive strength of long age concrete accords with logarithm curve,splitting tensile strength and compressive strength have good internal relationship,and Poisson's ratio value corresponds with common concrete.It is also discovered that carbonated zone strength is lower than uncarbonated zone strength for the water-carrying hydraulic concrete,which results from the enlargement of pore diameter,total pore volume and most probable pore size of carbonated zone of the concrete,and the deterioration of pore structure.The impermeability of the long-age uncarbonated concrete almost accords with design strength of the concrete,and does not elevate with the increasing of concrete strength,which is revealed by mercury intrusion pores method(MIP) and scanning electron microscope(SEM).
