Study on activation of micro-powder mixture of granulated blast furnace slag and steel slag

Activity of micro-powder mixture of blast furnace slag and steel slag was improved through mechanical activation and chemical activation.Three activators such as KYH-8 and KYH-9 and KYH-10 were confected to activate the composite powder.XRD,PLM and SEM were used to characterize the mixture.Results indicate that activity of composite powder decreased with the increasing of steel slag powder in the mixture and that as the fineness of steel slag powder increased from 400 to 500 m2/kg,the activity of composite powder increased to some extent.Micro-powder mixture exhibited hydraulicity gradually when mixed with cement.When KYH-10 was about 0.01 mol/L and steel slag to granulated blast furnace slag ratio was 3∶2,the composite powder achieved the highest activity with activity index of 7 days over 85% and activity index of 28 days over 104%.
