Treatment of Paraplegia due to Thoracic and Lumbar Vertebral Fracture with Reducing Pressure Fixed with Short C-D Unit at Anterior Spine Canal

Liaobu Hospital of Dongguan City,Guangdong Province Li Chang Xiao Demao Zhou Yinghua et al
Aim:To discuss the effect of reducing pressure fixed with short C-D unit at anterior spine canal to treat unstable fracture of thoracic and lumbar vertebrae combined with paraplegia. Methods:The vertebrae were combined at back way as reducing pressure at lateral anterior canal via arch to support the melted vertebrae to dorsal distension with short segment of C-D unit.Results:9 cases of 10 were followed half to 1 year. The deformity were corrected cobb’s angle 13°,canal enlargement 55% and vertebrae melt in 4 months in average.88.9% had been improved 1 grade of Frankel degree in incomplete paraplegia.Conclusion:C-D unit could reduce pressure anterior canal at best limit and maintain vertebrae curve over distension.C-D unit may have best curative effect and easy handled so it should be best unit to treat thoracic and lumbar vertebrae fracture.
