Correction of Lateral Deviation of Mandible with the Intraoral Sagittal Split Ramus Osteotomy

Objective:To discuss a simple and available operative method to treat lateral deviation of mandible.Methods:36 cases were selected who suffered overlength of mandible ramus,both body and ramus of mandible and combined with protrusive mandible.The mandible was rotated to symmetric in both side after sagittal split ramus osteotomy.Results:36 cases of overlength ramus or combined with protrusive mandible who were normal in opposite side had received split ostcotomy bilatcral.There were no complication after operation and every data were in normal range after X-ray examinations.The appearance of facial and mandible shape were satisfied.Conclusion:The improved split ramus osteotomy could be an ideal method to treat lateral deviation of mandible comparatively.
