A Randomized Comparison and Clinical Analysis of Four Methods for Induced Labor on Mid-term Pregnancy

Objective:To compare the efficiency of four different methods of induced labor of mid-term pregnancy and their related effects.Methods:A total of 155 midterm women who want induced labor were randomly distributed to one of four induced labor methods.The four methods were water balloon device,rivanolum,intravaginal misoprostol and intracervical prostaglandin E gel.The effects of four methods of induced labor were analyzed with statistics method and different effects on maternal health were compared.Results:No significant differences in maternal health after induced labor were observed among four groups.All the methods except the intravaginal misoprostol and intracervical prostaglandin E gel could obviously use less time of induced labor.Conclusions:Both prostaglandin E 1 and E 2 have great effects in helping the dilation of cervix and shortening the interval of the labor while water balloon device might be economical but easily infected.Rivanolum could be safe,economical and reliable especially practicing in small hospital.
