Effects of VEGF on Proliferation and DNA Synthesis of Vascular Endothelial Cell

Objective To study the mechanism by which promotes angiogenesis in angiogenic disease. Methods In vitro cultured cell line of human umbilical vein endothelial cells ECV304 were applied to measure the effects of VEGF on proliferation and DNA synthesis of ECV304 in by MTT and 3H-TdR Incorporation. Results VEGF could enhance proliferation and DNA synthesis of ECV304 in dependent dose. Conclusion VEGF may promote angiogenesis by stimulating proliferation and DNA synthesis of ECV304 and may play important role in angiogenic diseases.
