Electroanalytical Characteristics of Chlorprothixene in the Presence of Surfactant

In a pH7.00 buffer solution containing 0.0020% OP, chlorprothixene yields a sensitivepolarographic wave at-95 V, which can be used to determine the trace amounts of the drug, the de-tection limit being 5.4×10 ̄(-9)mol/L. Using potentiostatic coulometry, chronocoulometry and cyclicvoltammetry, the electron number of electrochemical reaction, the surface concentration and the diffu-sion coefficient were found to be 2, 1.17×10 ̄(-10)mol/cm ̄2 and 4.3×10 ̄(-5)cm ̄2/s, respectively.
