Preliminary Computational Investigation of Vehicle Aerodynamics

In consideration of the expensive costs of wind tunnel installation and experiments, wemust find out the simulating experimental instrument by use of computational method, for the sake ofreducing the experimental workload at the least, aim at shorting the lead time and reducing the experi-mental costs. Owing to the very difficulty of this problem, there is no doubt that it is a problem all theworld knows. Research work in this aspect is also carried on nowadays in abroad, hence,the said research belongs to disciplinary frontier project. Based on the research work in recent years, the author introduces a newly developed programManuscript received on Aug 15, 1994ABACSS (Automotive Body Aerodynamic Computer Simulation System) which is concerned with com-puter simulation system about the characteristics of vehicle body aerodynamics, thus we lay the foundation for deeply research the“computational aerodynamics”later on.
