Determination of Fixed Carbon on Graphite Ores with the Treatment of Dilute Nitrate by Using High Frequency IR-absorption Spectrometry

The method for determining the fix carbon by using the high frequency IR-absorption spectrometry wasestablished. The authors discussed the effect of sample weight,acid selection,burn temperature and fluxing agent onthe testing results,optimized and determined the feasible samples of processing conditions. The analytical results werein good agreement with the standard substances. The detection limit of the method was 0.001 2% with the precisionfrom 0.64% to 4.54%. The relative error was from-0.34% to 0.21%. The carbon content of graphite samples wasfrom 0.2% to 25%.
