A STUDY OF THE INFLUENCE OF FLAME RETARDANT ADDITIVES ON THE STRUCTURES AND PROPERTIES OF THE BLENDED PAN FIBERS

By the means of WAXD, SEM, LOI, DSC and DTA, the PAN fibers blended with the flame retardant additives, FR and Sb_2O_3, in Various proportions have been investigated. The results show that the Supermolecular structure in high ordered region and the thermal behaviors of PAN fibers are effected, but the supermolecular structure in lower ordered region, the macrostructure and the mechanical properties of PAN fibers are not remarkably influenced by the additives. The FR and Sb_2O_3 are excellent flame retarded agents for the PAN fibers.
