Development and Swing Range Analysis of Base Fabric-Traverse Z-Shaped Weaving Device of Artificial Turf

In order to improve the bearing capacity of base fabric and the distribution uniformity of artificial turf,a base fabric-traverse device with eccentric wheel,which realizes the Z-shaped weaving of artificial turf,was developed. Then,the influence of Z-shaped swing range on the bearing capacity of base fabric of artificial turf was analyzed. Moreover,a virtual prototype model of the device was established,and the corresponding motion simulation and unloaded operation were carried out. Finally,tensile tests of the base fabric with a row spacing of 19 mm( 3/4 inches) and with four different swing ranges were conducted. The results indicate that,as compared with line-shaped artificial turf,Z-shaped artificial one is of better distribution uniformity and stronger bearing capacity of base fabric,and that the bearing capacity of base fabric becomes superior when the swing range is about half of the line spacing of artificial turf.
