Stability Analysis for Two Sets of Jointed Consequent Rock Slope under Seismic Quasi-Static Effect

Based on the upper bound limit analysis method and by considering the seismic load effect,the stability of two sets of jointed consequent rock slope is analyzed. Then,by integrating a strength reduction technique,a calculation formula of the safety factor of two sets of jointed consequent rock slope is put forward,and the objective function of the safety factor Fs is optimized by means of the nonlinear sequential quadratic programming method. Finally,under different seismic loads,the slope safety factor obtained through the upper bound limit analysis method is compared with the results obtained through the discrete element method. It is found that the two kinds of results are close to each other,with a relative error of less than 4%,and the corresponding sliding surfaces are also similar,which demonstrates the rationality and reliability of the proposed method. Parametric analysis shows that the slope height,the internal friction angle of the joints,the joint angle combination and the seismic loading all have significant effects on the slope safety factor and the potential critical slip surface.
