Morphology Structure and Compositions of Gleditsia sinensis Lam. and Fructus Gleditsiae Abnormalis

In order to compare and analyze the structure and composition of Gleditsia sinensis Lam. and fructus gleditsiae abnormalis,external morphology and structure of Gleditsia sinensis Lam.,small and big fruit of fructus gleditsiae abnormalis were measured by vernier caliper,and contents of crude saponins and echinocyctic acid were measured by ultrasonic and HPLC methods. The results showed that the difference of the pod length,width,thickness,weight,length width ratio between Gleditsia sinensis Lam. and big and small fruit of fructus gleditsiae abnormali was extremely significant. Among them the pod length and width product of Gleditsia sinensis Lam. was the largest,significantly different from big and small fruit of fructus gleditsiae abnormalis. Gleditsia sinensis Lam. and big and small fruit of fructus gleditsiae abnormalis had thick and obvious cell wall,with visible pores in epidermal cells,had palisade cells,seeds and many stone cells,and the difference between Gleditsia sinensis Lam. and small fruit of fructus gleditsiae abnormalis was significant. The contents of crude saponins in Gleditsia sinensis Lam.,small and big fruit of fructus gleditsiae abnormalis were 37. 40%,46. 70%,35. 15% respectively,and the contents of echinocyctic acid were 0. 37%,0. 11%,0. 27% respectively. The content differences of crude saponins and echinocyctic acid in Gleditsia sinensis Lam.,small and big fruit of fructus gleditsiae abnormalis were extremely significant. In summary,Gleditsia sinensis Lam. and fructus gleditsiae abnormalis had significant differences in morphology structure and composition.
