Research on the Effect of Leader Modeling on Employees' Silence: The Mediating Role of Trust in Supervisor and the Moderating Role of Organizational Politics Perception

ZHANG Zheng-tang;MAI Xiao-dong;CUI Lan-ping;
Based on the leaders' positive behavior,this study examined whether leader modeling could promote the employees to break the silence or not as well as the role of trust in supervisor and organizational politics perception in the relationship. With the first hand survey data,the empirical study found that leader modeling had a significant negative impact on employee silence. At the same time,trust in supervisor mediated the relationship,and organizational politics perception moderated the relationship. When the employees' organizational politics perception was low,the negative impact of leader modeling on employee silence would be strengthened,and the moderating effect of organizational politics perception was mediated by trust in supervisor.
