A study on nutrient removal efficiency from aquaculture water by planting three kinds of vegetables

The lettuce, purple lettuce and spinach were selected to study their nutrient removal efficiency in the hydrostatic tanks for 21 days. Total nitrogen, total phosphorus and chemical oxygen consumption in the water were determined every 7 days for each group. The fresh weight and root length of the vegetables were measured at the end of the experiment. The results showed that the three vegetables could survive in aquaculture water, but the nutrient removal efficiency was not obvious.
