Value of joint detection of serum dermokine-β and carcinoembryonic antigen to the clinical diagnosis of colon cancer

Objective To investigate the value of joint detection of serum dermokine-β(DK-β) and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) to the clinical diagnosis of colon cancer.Methods ELISA and chemiluminescence were used to detect the serum levels of DK-β,CEA and carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199) in 214 patients with colon cancer(colon cancer group),20 patients with colitis(colitis group) and 30 healthy subjects(control group).The different Dukes stages of serum DK-β,CEA and CA199,and the sensitivity and specificity were analyzed.Results The levels of serum CEA,CA199 and DK-β were significantly higher in colon cancer group than those in control group(P0.01).The sensitivity of joint detection of serum CEA,CA199 and DK-β to colon cancer was the highest,and the specificity of CEA was the highest.The sensitivity of DK-β was the highest in phase A and B(P0.01) and the sensitivity of CEA was the highest in phase C and D(P0.01).The sensitivity was not significantly different in the same combination in different Dukes stages(P0.05).Conclusion The joint detection of DK-β,CEA and CA199 has a high sensitivity in different Dukes stages of colon,and can improve the diagnosis rate of colon cancer.
