Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of self-made Jiawei Suoquan pills in children with enuresis( insufficiency of kidney qi) with spina bifida occulta. Methods: A total of 67 children with enuresis and spina bifida occulta were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The 37 children in the treatment group received self-made Jiawei Suoquan pills, and the 30 children in the control group received the Chinese patent drug Yeniaoning pills. During administration, raw, cold,or spicy food was inhibited, and the children did not drink or eat fruits within 2 hours before going to bed. The efficacy was compared after 1 month of treatment. Results:The overall response rate showed a significant difference between the treatment group and the control group( 94. 6%vs 76. 7%; P 0. 05); after treatment, the treatment group had a significantly lower frequency of enuresis,a significantly lighter sleep, and a significantly lower score for associated symptoms compared with the control group( P 0. 05). Conclusion: Compared with Yeniaoning pills,self-made Jiawei Suoquan pills have better efficacy in the treatment of enuresis( insufficiency of kidney qi) with spina bifida occulta in children.
