Freedom and Crisis: Strategies and Reflections on Manufacturing Enterprises' Social Responsibility

Taking 69 small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in Shanghai J District as an example,this paper describes the interaction between enterprises and "stakeholders"by establishing an analysis framework of corporate social responsibility action strategies,and reveals the complex causal relationship among the three action strategies of selective accountability,passive action and buck-passing resistance. The research finds that enterprises have certain freedom and power in performing their duties,which implies the hidden dangers and crises brought by the negative action strategies of enterprises. The research concludes that the CSR action of manufacturing enterprises is in a dilemma,and can not improve stakeholder satisfaction and achieve its balance,which means that there is still a long way to go before the transformation and promotion of enterprises. The article points out that by continuing to strengthen the restraint role of the institutional environment and provide sufficient benefit for enterprises,the positive operation of social responsibility of manufacturing enterprises can be realized.
