Constructivism and Teaching Strategy in Mathematics Teaching

Some ideas in mathematics teaching are relevant to those of constructivist learning theory in the aspect that both emphasize how to cultivate students ability to realize problems, raise problems, face unexpected difficulties, resolve problems by using information in the context and cooperating with others. Thus, constructivist learning theory should be employed effectively in mathematics teaching, especially the contextual learning theory and cooperative learning theory.
