Three Dimensional FEM Analysis of Displacement and Stress of Baise Stilling Pool During Construction

A non-linear FEM model capable of taking into account the load bearing characteristics of the key groove is established to study the settlement and stress of the stilling pool under various working conditions, according to the layout of the stilling pool during construction and the latest geological investigation of the non-uniform foundation information on Baise project. The results indicates the effective elimination of uneven settlement by the arrangement of key grooves. Comparing with that in design stage, the stress distribution on blocks inside the pool becomes more reasonable.
