Test Study on Water Diversion and Sediment Control for Convex Bank of Wanao Hydropower Station

For some small hydropower stations,the water intake has to be arranged on the convex bank given special topographic and geological conditions,and the problem of water diversion and sediment control is on the top priority to be solved.The paper takes Wanao Hydropower Station as an example to address the problem.Model test is done to observe flow pattern and deposition feature in front of the dam.It is proposed to divert flow to the water intake through an open channel upstream the convex bank and to sluice sand by flow from the upstream.
